SPIC MACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) is a non-profit, voluntary movement founded in 1977 by Dr. Kiran Seth, a professor at IIT Delhi. Its primary objective is to preserve India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage and to make the youth of the present generation more aware and capable of appreciating it. Today, with the support of its volunteers, SPIC MACAY organizes over six thousand programs annually across the country, including classical music and dance, folk art, yoga, traditional painting, and other art forms. These programs are graced by some of the most eminent artists of our time and reach millions of young people.

In Kerala, SPIC MACAY has been active since 1987, spreading its influence across all 14 districts. Over the years, it has hosted legendary artists such as Smt. M.S. Subbalakshmi, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Smt. D.K. Pattamal, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Sri Balamurali Krishna, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair, and Guru Ammannur Madhava Chakyar, among others, at various educational institutions. In the year 2023-24, SPIC MACAY hosted nearly 500 programs across different educational institutions in Kerala.
